Open Range Organic Eggs - tray

Open Range Organic Eggs - tray

$27.50Price

30 (2.5 dozen) high-welfare organic eggs laid by our happy pastured hens in Rosa Brook.

There's a world of difference between ORGANIC egg farm management & standard 'free range' or 'pastured' management... & it's not just about whether you chem-spray the paddocks!

The ORGANIC difference:

  • Our organic hens have been handraised by us since their first day of life, whereas standard practice is to buy in hens from another farm when they're 5-6 months & ready to lay eggs.
  • Our flock is so healthy that we do not need to use standard routine vaccinations or worming medications.
  • We do not need to use standard routine antibiotics in chick feed.
  • We do not need to trim hens' beaks, as is standard due to the young chicks being raised in high-density sheds, where they are more likely to peck.
  • We do not believe in using articifial lights in sheds to increase supply (another standard in other systems).
  • And most importantly, we only use organic feed because toxins bioaccumulate in living beings.  This is crucial because the grains in regular chicken food have been loaded with chemicals, and this transfers to their eggs.  Did you know 90-95% of a commercial pastured laying hen's diet is actually GRAIN not bugs & forage?  So our feed is not only GMO-free & medication-free, it is chemical-free and slaughterhouse-waste-free too.

Our motto is to 'live well'!  Our hens do, and our egg customers do too!
