Ask the farmer all your burning questions

It's a unique opportunity to meet the animals on a working farm, and to chat with their farmer. We will take an hour's walking tour to visit our holistically managed livestock including our open range laying hens, and our grass-finished beef cattle. We can discuss a range of food & sustainable farming topics according to your interests (e.g. soil health, rotational grazing, differences in organic systems).

INCLUSIONS:

The tour ends in our farm shop with a warming cup of organic coffee or leaf tea (included in the tour price), where you can also enjoy exclusive browsing time for our organic produce available for purchase.

Visitors leave our farm with an appreciation for the natural beauty of the land as well as insights into the practices that sustain healthy ecosystems and support conscious agriculture.

ORGANIC MORNING/AFTERNOON TEA:

We can also offer an optional inclusion of an organic morning or afternoon tea, arranged in advance. This will feature delicious fresh produce from the farm. Please mention when booking, and let us know any dietary restrictions so we can quote appropriately.

WHO IS THIS FARM TOUR FOR?

Our tours are suitable for anyone interested in connecting the many dots between paddock to plate. Everyone is welcome: individuals, families, tourists, students, schools, home-school & alternative education groups, special interest groups, community groups, corporate excursions, professional team development & conference outings (minimum 2 people, maximum negotiable). Our family farm is an inclusive space for the wide spectrum of unique identities that make up our beautiful human race... as long as you're wearing suitable closed-toe shoes/boots & you leave your pets at home, you're in! Please just give us plenty of notice to ensure your dates are available. We look forward to welcoming you soon.

HOW TO BOOK:

If you haven't already, please email lawson@mrorganicfarmer.com with some suggested tour dates/times. We will do our best to accommodate these around our other commitments, and we will liaise with you with a quote for your private tour. Your booking will be confirmed on payment of this deposit.

PLEASE NOTE: we are a working farm & under 18s must be accompanied by adults. This tour includes walking over a kilometre on uneven paddocks, & closed toe shoes must be worn. We recommend to dress appropriately for the weather (hats in summer, waterproofs in winter). We also have large umbrellas to keep the worst of the sun/rain off!

PAYMENT & CANCELLATIONS:

The balance of your bespoke farm tour (as quoted by email) is due on the day. Life happens, but if you cancel your scheduled tour with less than 72 hours notice, this will forfeit your deposit. Cancellations with more than 72 hours notice will be given a 80% refund with 20% ($10) retained by Margaret River Organic Farmer as an administration fee. If you would like to find an alternative date, we welcome you to reschedule your tour subject to availability under the same cancellation conditions. We are happy to walk rain or shine, but if the weather is horrible, we can also enjoy a yarn on our comfortable chairs in the farm shop with views out over the paddocks, with a slideshow of photos taken over the seasons & years!

We pay respects to the Traditional Owners, the Wadandi people & recognise their connections to country, waterways and culture.

We feel privileged to learn from them & strive to walk gently in the footsteps of those who have nurtured this land before us.
